Explore Meditation to Enhance Your Writing - Workshop

Your journey in writing may be new or a process you’ve been exploring for some time. Writing may come to you with inspiration or with detailed depth and research. Everyone has their unique style of approaching writing. It is an expression of yourself. The subject matter is the medium that you transmute yourself through.

Your purpose for writing is your own. You may find it to be healing and part of your self-care practice. You may come to writing to have the experience of creating something new.

There is a wealth of things that may come up while you are writing. You may come across writer’s block. You may be nervous to share your story. You may think you are not good enough. You may struggle with creating pacing for your writing practice.

In this exploratory workshop, you will explore writing in a group setting and learn meditation tools to enhance your writing experience. There will be time to write and time to be guided through meditations. We’ll also discuss writing, noting what comes up for you as you write, and how that transforms through the workshop.

All levels are welcome! This means anyone new to writing, curious about writing, wanting to expand their journaling, or folks who have been writing for years are more than welcome to join in.

Upcoming Workshop:

Sonny’s House, May 31st from 5:30-7:30pm

2504 NE Sandy BLVD, Portland, OR 97232

The best time to take notes is during the small social chat breaks or simply before or after the session. The session will not be recorded. You are asked to be on video and to be in a private and quiet space where you can focus deeply. Public spaces like libraries, parks, or cars are not recommended

Upcoming Sessions:

Virtual Session Vibe: TBD

TBD - PST on Google Meets

————————————————————————

You have a vision for the world on a personal, political, and global level. You believe deeply that that vision is possible - and you aren’t the only one dreaming of it. Some challenges can get in the way of honoring and moving forth with your vision. This can result in a stage of grieving what you considered was happening. The thing is, you can honor your grief, rest, gather your energy, and take steps toward your vision anyway. We did this when the pandemic hit and that wasn’t even the first time of pulling ourselves together. You’ve got this. Join in community with other queer, gender expansive, and trans folk to grieve and revitalize your vision.

Creativity Drop-in: Walking the Path Less Chosen

There is a part of you that has been on your side from the beginning. This part of you has helped you chart your own course through the inspiration of the things you dream of for your life. This part of you is your spirit, in a way your guiding light.

As a creative, it can be tempting to walk another’s path. Maybe you imagine the grass is greener. You may have even walked in someone else’s shoes. Sometimes it works, perhaps for a bit. Consider what happens when their grass grows weeds, or their shoes can’t support you, or that other path becomes long-winded.

Your path as a creative is likely the path less chosen - because it is your path to take. Your dreams can lead the way because they come from you.

Join me for a drop-in for creatives of all styles. There will be guided meditations and time to create. Make sure to bring something you can create with for the drop-in. There will also be a bit of journaling as well - so bring pen and paper!

HEALING FOR NEW SELVES & NEW WORLDS

In this workshop, delve into the purpose of your creativity and dismantle structures that inhibit your creativity from flowing naturally. This is the time to embrace your own rhythm and cadence as an "artist".

Being creative is embedded in our nature as humans. As a creative human, you have your own sense of timing, of vision, of method. These creative patterns are also learned from community, family, culture, and country.

Our society defines "the artist" as a particular thing distinct and separate from society. It fails to help us see the ways in which we are each artists in our everyday life creating beauty in the world around us and making in the most mundane moments. As a result, we can be completely oblivious to our natural creative talents, believing the word "artist" applies to the few who do it professionally. If we identify as "an artist", we can lose track of what feels good in being creative, trying to do what others expect we should do.

To center and honor your own rhythm and cadence as an "artist" can bring you a great sense of flow, of grounding, and improved boundaries with this world. There is something magical that happens when you own who you are and how you flow - outside of any external expectations.

All skill levels are welcome from long-timers, newbies, and everyone in between. All varieties of artists and mediums are welcome too!

This is a free workshop for BIPOC Folks!

Workshop Location and Time:

Preparing for a Kink Event or Scene

Virutal - Wednesday, April 16th at 5:00pm - 6:30pm

It can be exhilarating to take the first steps toward planning your next event or scene. You might be flying high from the endorphins of your imagination and conversations you have begun to explore.

It can also be anxiety-inducing and overwhelming to manage all the details in preparing for your next scene or event. There may be a fear of not getting it right or truly understanding your needs, desires, and the vibe you’d like to be in.

In this session, you will explore ways to prepare yourself for a kinky event or scene. You will use meditation tools learned in the class alongside journaling with a variety of prompts. Meditation is like a palate cleanser, helping you to release old energy, center yourself, feel grounded, and bring in new energy that aligns with your desires.

  • Explore your desires

  • Embrace your emotional values

  • Understand how to set an overall tone

  • Discover ways to support your desires and values

The goal of this workshop is to come away with a sense of clarity, purpose, and to feel in charge of the adventure you are creating.

This session is for kinksters and leather folks of all skills. Regardless of your roles in your dynamics, this session creates the clarity to move more confidently into your kinky event or scene.

About Tieara Myers

I have been teaching meditation and studying the art of meditation for over 15 years. I have taught classes in-person and virtually in Chicago, IL and in Portland, Oregon. I use the same meditation tools I teach every day for my personal life.

The style of meditation I teach is based on psychic meditation tools, making it a visual practice. The focus of the classes I teach is recentering, nurturing one's self, finding inner clarity, resting, and embracing all of one's self.

I teach classes online with the Art of the Seer Academy. I also teach additional classes virtually and in-person in Portland, OR.
