Ride the Wave
As we are rounding the bend of the last year, our attention is starting to shift. It’s been a rough year on many levels. As a society, what we upheld as our identities has been challenged. Finally, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Instead of being under a microscope of destruction, we are starting to look at building, creating, and welcoming in the new world.
This new world may be unknown. You may simply feel it within you. The newness coming. Perhaps, your dreams have evolved, your day dreams are dynamic, or your curiosity is peaked. You may feel a draw within to create something new for your life. This may be something you’ve always wanted to experience in your life. That big trip across the world. A new exciting career. A new level of vulnerability in love. What if it’s brand new? You may not have words to express what you are being called to create. You may not have words to express the newness that is you being unveiled. It’s simply a feeling.
There is always something new to have and experience. As we are starting to come out of the last year, this is becoming more apparent than ever. In the face of death, we consider our lives. In the face of death, we consider our future. For some people, that new journey was very clear. It came from a call within to make a choice over the last year. To embark on a great adventure of being in the world. Careers dramatically changed, lifestyles evolved, and the world as they knew it broke open to something new. For others, their world changed abruptly, and what was known was no longer. Change arose in their lives suddenly and completely. An uncontrollable surrender of dreams, making way for the unexpected new world coming.
As our old familiar lives have fallen away, the new dreams are what create our future. For our dreams to become our reality, growth and change are a part of the process. The last year has shaken things up in a way of no return. There is only forward. With this tide of newness, you could be a salmon swimming upstream or you could ride the waves. Change is a choice. Your new dreams are a choice.
Ride the wave. So, what’s your dream for your future?
